Election Day is Tuesday, November 5th.
My Priorities
1)Resolve the dispute between the BOCC and the Sheriffs Dept. regarding the Public Safety Sales Tax. (PSST)
2) Get the Sheriffs Dept. enrolled in the Fire Police Pension Association of Colorado so our Sheriff can recruit, train, and retain highly skilled deputies to serve our community. (FPPA)
3) Review all Departments within the County to bring greater efficiencies to our tax payers. Small adjustments can be meaningful savings to a budget over time.
4) Bring greater transparency to the decision making process and restore public confidence. Greater representation and more accountability are a must.
5) Bring greater awareness to the various taxing agencies that are largely responsible for the property tax we all pay. Positions on theses boards need to be advertised and we need to have board members who are fiscally conservative and frugal with our tax dollars.

The issues
I made the important decision to run for this public office because of the several issues that confront our community.
1) Property tax relief is needed. Revisit how our property taxes are calculated that is in-line with income.
2) Public safety - This includes adequate funding of our Sheriffs Dept. and critical infrastructure needed to protect our citizens. Our officers and first responders are underpaid for the work they do.
3) Our water and natural resources are the lifeblood of our economy. We need to protect them vigorously.
4) Greater transparency and accountability in our county government. More citizen input and involvement on important policy decisions is needed.
5) Defend our community against an influx of immigrants that is estimated to cost the Sanctuary City of Denver 180 Million dollars or $500.00 per household in FY 2024.
There is a storm brewing on the front range and it's heading for the Western Slope It threatens our budgets, our culture, and our social service safety net. The citizens of Montrose County did not ask for this and we cannot afford it. We need to make it clear that we are not, and will not become a Sanctuary City. The radical left created this crisis and they need to fix it.
